Collegial Collaboration, including new teacher support teams and study groups that focus on specific topics.

  • Network and support of new teachers through collaboration with other professions that can include groups of teachers who engage in instructional planning, team planning, grade level needs, and assistance (Arends & Regazio-DiGilio, 2000). Networks can include Internet bulletin boards or list-serves (Gold, 1996).
  • Establish mentee study groups that focus on specific topics where new teachers can learn from veteran teachers, colleagues, and/or higher-education faculty (Stansbury & Zimmerman, 2000).
