Why did you become a teacher?
I met my husband when he was teaching ESL in Korea and saw how he interacted with his students. I knew then that I wanted to spend my life educating young people.

What is one important piece of advice you can give other teachers?
Do not fear technology. If you do not know how to do something, chances are one of your students will help you! New Teachers -Teach on a reservation. The children are wonderful and we need super teachers on the Navajo Reservation.

What is one of your favorite things about teaching?
Seeing my students at the grocery store a year later and hearing about their lives and how they are doing in school. Pinon is a very small town so we all know one another and see one another all the time. There is such a wonderful sense of family here! The Navajo families have given my husband and I rugs and jewelry in appreciation for our work.
